Visual Prompts to help with game playing That's okay! Good game!

In addition to having written rules for game playing, I find it helpful to have visual prompts to help with any disappointing events during game playing (i.e., lose a turn, go back, losing the game).  I role play with my students to verbally say "That's okay" when they lose a turn.  I, also, role play how we will respond to winning and losing a game (we all say: "good game").

In the written rules, I include: No crying. No pouting, No "victory dances".

We review this before each game, so we are all prepared.  It gives everyone something appropriate to say when they are disappointed.  It works wonders!
