use as "foldables" with s-blend word on top and contrast card below.  Align and staple cards together and cut off all but the 's' in the top card so the contrast card below shows remaining letters for the s-blend word.  

this is 'pot'.  now add /s/ to make a new word....'ssssspot' as you fold the top page down to show the contrast word and picture.
