SLOW/JustRight/FAST Ticket Game SLOW/JustRight/FAST Tickets SLOW/JustRight/FAST Too Slow Too Fast Just right badge police officer Rate of Speech

Prep:  Laminate and cut apart each card.

How to play:

Children can listen to the SLP, teacher, and other students in group. The goal is to develop good discrimination for appropriate rate of speech in others. One student will act as a "police officer" and hand out "too fast, too slow, or just right"  tickets to the others in the room while other people talk (or read aloud) using various rates of speech.

If the police officer gives out a badge in error (ex: they give a 'just right' badge' when it should have been a 'too fast' badge), they lose their turn as the police officer and the next student gets to become the officer.  [The SLP or Teacher is the judge and makes note of how many tickets were given out correctly.]

How to Win:

*** There are actually TWO WINNERS in EACH GAME:  the best student 'police officer' (i.e. good at discriminating poor/good rate) and the best 'talker/reader' (use an accurate rate).

Police Officer Winner:  The student who gave out the most correct tickets during the game is the winner.

Best Talker/Reader:  Students who correctly produced the most 'just right' speech (i.e., have the most just right tickets in their possession) also win the game.
