Using My Words Social Story One Page Picture I CAN USE MY WORDS When I am at school I might need or want something. I might need to use the bathroom. I might need help with my work. I might need to ask a question. I might just want to tell a funny story or tell how I am feeling. I should NEVER poke or grab anyone if I want to say something. If I poke or grab someone they might get angry. they might get confused. Instead I can use my words to ask for what I want or need. If I am supposed to be in my seat I can raise my hand and wait for the teacher to call on me. Once the teacher calls on me I can say what I need or want Ask a question. If I am allowed out of my seat I can go to the adult and say “Excuse me”. Once they respond I can say my words. I can also use my words at recess. If I want to play with someone I can go up to them and ask “Do you want to play?” or “Can I play too?” If I use my words the person will understand what I am trying to tell them.
