Size of the Problem Big and Small Problems We all have problems. Some are big problems and some are small problems. If it is a big problem I probably need some help. I might need to shout and scream if it is a big problem so that someone can come and help me. I might even cry if I am really scared or hurt. That's ok. But if it is a small problem I don't need to shout. I don't need to cry. I should think about a solution to my problem. I might need some help. Or I might just be able to ignore the problem. Let's look at some different problems that might happen and think about how I should handle them. There is a tornado Is this a big problem? Should I scream and shout? Do I need help? Is this a little problem? Can I think of a solution? Do I need help or can I handle it on my own? I spilled on my clothes I don't understand my work There is a fire I spilled my drink I lost my game There is a car accident I broke my pencil The iPad isn't available or I can't play a video game. My hands are dirty My brother or sister took my stuff. What other problems can I think of?

A social story to consider the size of the problem and how to react.
