Winter Animal Facts Artic Fox The Artic Fox sheds its fur each season changing from white fur in the winter to grey in the summer months Caribou One adult caribou eats about 12 pounds (5 kilograms) of food each day. Moose Moose are the largest of all the deer species in the world. Musk Ox Musk oxen can weigh up to 400 kilos each. Narwhal Narwhal are often called the unicorns of the sea. Snowy Owl Snowy owls feet are covered with feathers like fluffy slippers. Penguin Penguins poop every 20 minutes. Polar Bear Polar bears are the largest carnivore that lives on land. Reindeer Reindeer can jump 25 feet up in the air. Harp Seal Baby seals are born on pack ice floating in the North Atlantic and Arctic Walrus Walruses use their tusks to haul themselves out of the water and onto the sea ice. Wolf During the coldest nights a wolf will curl itself into a ball covering its nose with its tail to keep warm. Wolverine Wolverines will refrigerate their dead prey in the snow. Puffin A nickname for Puffins is Sea Parrots.
