PowerPoint Fixed (Plain)

Each page of your material is set as a background image on a PowerPoint slide. This allows you to draw on the page as well as move objects onto the page. Great for Telepractice!

PowerPoint Fixed (w/Tokens)

Same as above, but with some of our most common token symbols. Keep the ones you want and delete the rest to make an interactive game for remote play.

PowerPoint Moveable

Each page of your material is placed on a separate slide as a moveable picture. Rearrange and resize as you see fit.

Equivalent Expressions (M-6.4) Identify when two expressions are equivalent. 4+2=2+4 is an expression too! It is a MATH EXPRESSION. MATH EXPRESSIONS have numbers. You can only add numbers to numbers. 2+2+2=6 MATH EXPRESSIONS have variables (the letters in the equation) too. You can only add variables to variables. g+g+g=3g This MATH expression looks different on both sides of the = sign but is EQUIVALENT. This MATH expression looks the same on both sides of the = sign and is EQUIVALENT. An equation is EQUIVALENT when both sides have the same answer. Parenthesis means to multiply the outside number with the inside number and variable. 4(2+x)=8+4x This equation looks different but is equivalent (equal). 3+5=5+3 This equation looks the same and is equivalent (equal). Let's practice identifying EQUIVALENT EXPRESSIONS! Which expression is equivalent to b+b+b+b? a) 4b b) b+4 c)b^4 d) b/4 Which expression is equivalent to 3k? a)k+k b)k+k+k c)k+k+k+k d)b+b+b Which expression is equivalent to 7(3+g)? a)10+7g b)21g c)21+7g d)21+g Which expression is equivalent to 5f+10? a)5(f+2) b)5(f+10) c)5f-10 d)5f+2 Which expression is equivalent to 2(2+s)? a)4+s b)4s+2 c)2+2s d)4+2s Great job identifying equivalent equations! You are so smart! special education moderate to severe disabilities

This book was created to teach 6th grade students in an MSD setting standard M6.4 Identify when two expressions are equivalent. This book is simple and has vocab as well as math problems that will provide a teacher with a work sample for this standard (KY standard).
