Using LessonPix to Support Handwriting

According to the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), handwriting is “a complex process of managing written language by coordinating the eyes, arms, hands, pencil grip, letter formation, and body posture.”

LessonPix has a variety of templates that anyone can use to create activities that help students develop and improve handwriting skills.

Practice the initial shapes and lines that children need to form all the letters using tracing cards

Here are more writing strokes materials.

Roll the writing stroke and draw. Can you combine 2 rolls to form a letter?

Practice writing letters based on the formation of the letter with the Race to the Top! Series Use with the dice linked in the material description.

The dotted line, outline, and street lines alphabet fonts support students who benefit from practicing letters by tracing.

Drive the letter. Use toy car to move along the letter or number roads.

The Writing Templates provide options including a primary lined and multiple lined options. Primary lined options provide a middle of the line guide to support students in forming tall letters (e.g., t, l, k), short letters (e.g., a, c, r) and tail letters (e.g., j, p, q, y). Picture prompts can be used to remind students how to form letters.

Here are more writing pages. Create your own designs of these templates in LessonPix.
