Universal Core Boards

LessonPix is proud to partner with the UNC Project Core team to provide these Universal Core boards.  These communication boards feature the 36 most critical core words that everyone should have access to.

From Project Core at UNC

The Universal Core vocabulary is a set of 36 highly useful single words that can be used alone or in combination to communicate for a range of purposes on countless topics with a wide variety of communication partners. Several formats are available to support student access through direct pointing or touch, eye gaze selection, and partner-assisted scanning.

To support Project Core's goal of encouraging access to these Universal Core words, we have made free communication boards for all eight of the standard Project Core layouts plus a matching Eye Gaze Board that takes advantage of our easy-to-use mirroring template.

Additional Eye Gaze Board

Because our Eye Gaze template was such a perfect fit, we also made a free board using that great tool that automates the mirroring for you. Just print with a printer that prints on both sides (sometimes called "Duplex Printing") and it will work great!

Modifying These Boards

LessonPix Members can modify these boards to fit their needs by loading the symbols into their tray and clicking "Create Materials" to make whatever template they need. Learn more in our article on Editing Existing Materials
